About
Swiss-based Executive with 25 years of senior executive and expatriate experience in multiple countries and cultures. Martina is a physician by training and is an International Coaching Federation accredited coach. She holds an AMP degree from the Harvard Business School.
After completing her medical studies with a doctorate at the University of Cologne in Germany and in Italy, Martina started her career in pharma with GSK in the R&D/Medical Affairs area. Thereafter, she joined the online media world at Bertelsmann Springer group, leading the creation of scientific internet portals.
Martina worked 16 years as an executive at Bayer Pharma AG in R&D, with responsibility for medical functions in multiple Emerging Markets. As Vice President Medical Affairs for Latin America she was an expatriate in Mexico City.
Martina Muttke then joined Shire International GmbH, a global Biopharmaceutical company focused on Rare Diseases, where she led in R&D the International Medical Affairs team as a Group Vice President.
In her latest position at Galderma, a leader in integrated dermatology, she built the Medical Affairs function globally as Senior Vice President.
Working for Global Players during all her career, Martina was member of Regional and Global Executive teams. In her responsibility for functions spanning >50 countries and teams of >500 scientifically trained executives, she developed and led organizations through extensive change situations.
With her company Muttke GmbH, Martina works as corporate adviser, executive coach and board member. Her first book "Build Better Brains- A Leader's Journey to the World of Neuroscience" has been published in USA and globally on October 3rd, 2020.
Formerly the founder and chairman of a Swiss not-for-profit crowdfunding platform for people needing medical assistance, she enjoys charitable work, and is currently supporting a foundation for children and families with rare diseases.
